Re: WII U Intel m5 Console

Someone contacted me via email and had some tips to solve the problem. Thank you! :) I had a cheap cable+microUSB connector going from the voltage regulator to the compute stick and it was just not enough to get through the needed amp, so I made my custom micro USB male port with proper wire and it ...

Re: WII U Intel m5 Console

Hi, I'm still working on this project, but with a custom case not using a wiiu controller case. And I got stuck in the very beginning at the powersupply... Setup: I have 9V for charging, TP5100 charger (shortened the circuit for 8.4V charging), BMS panel connected 4x18650 batteries, 2 in parallel, 2...

Re: WII U Intel m5 Console

Batteries arrived today and.... I know this is a really dumb question but in order to use the 2S BMS I'm supposed to remove the existing board the batteries come with right? Yes. I would probably go for another board which has a heat sensor built in, but with a Wii controller size your options are ...

Re: WII U Intel m5 Console

Here is the batchfile for setting the undervolt+TDP for CPU&GPU, I used this for my GPD win2, I don't know if it needs any tweaking for the 6y30: https://pastebin.com/yG5VKqcc This needs XTU-Setup-6.4.1.25.exe version of XTU. I would recommend to try undervolting, if you are lucky you can go down to...

Re: WII U Intel m5 Console

Install Intel XTU, I think you need to find the correct version too, as they love to exclude some of the systems from newer versions (they don't want you to fry your chipset). Also keep in mind that this will make only a big difference if your heatsink (=fan(s),thermal paste, radiator) is very good....

Re: WII U Intel m5 Console

Looks good, but I think one fan with a copper heatsink (+thermal paste) would do also just fine, we need to disassembly the unit to see what can be used. Also my support ticket got resolved at Intel: "As per the higher team, you can make the changes to the TDP but it's highly recommended not to perf...

Re: WII U Intel m5 Console

At least I could find some tests about the power consumption of the m3 stick: https://www.anandtech.com/show/10447/the-intel-compute-stick-core-m36y30-review/6 It can spike up to 14W... Huston we need a better battery!!! XD So cTDP it is! With a better heatsink this will be a beast! I'm start to thi...

Re: WII U Intel m5 Console

What are you planning to run? Not just emulators, I have a lot of lower end requirement games on steam/gog, also I will build my own case/shell for it, it is just hard to find an active forum about this mods :) I hope I'm not spamming useless info... Dreamplans would be something like this: Hardwar...

Re: WII U Intel m5 Console

Abou max TDP I really need to do some testing. My initial idea was to undervolt it just a bit but again want to run some tests. Also: are you from europe too? Yep, but not from Italy (I'm from HU) :-) I was digging around the BIOS settings for these Sticks and as I see you cannot adjust the TDP set...
