Hdmi and composite playing at the same time

Post by Psy128 » Tue Sep 26, 2017 4:52 pm

I'm doing a arcade biuld at the moment and using the hdmi for my main screen but I want to play a video loop for a small screen which I'll be installing in top of the unit.
Now then is it possible to do that have both hdmi and composite video on at the same time.
I'm sure it can't be done and ordered another pi to run it separately.
I'm just throwing the question out there. :D :D :D :D

Unfortunately not, the Pi's video chip only supports one kind of video output at once, and can't support multiple monitors.
An amateur at best. Current project: GB 'Athena'

You can have your main screen running, and then have a second screen using SPI. Probably won't be big enough for your needs, but it can be done

Get a small cheep LCD in your project https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2312
Wrap it all round a battery https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2292
Or use a custom PCB to make it really small https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2512
or make it really really really really tiny!! https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2919

Thanks for the reply I think I'll go with a cheap pi and run it separate
