Help with planning game gear build

Post by RarinImp » Tue Apr 25, 2017 7:29 pm

Hey all,
I'm planning on doing a game gear as my first build with a desoldered pi3, and am waiting for about 90% of my parts to come in. Mainly, the second hand game gear so I can start planning the layout inside the case.

I'm hoping someone here has a set of calipers or a really good eye and tape measure, along with a game gear, who could give me some basic measurements.

I want to find out the size of
  • Circular D-pad
Lens over screen at widest point
    Button 1 and 2
Width/height of the AA battery compartment
Thank you in advance

Moving this to the Other Projcts/Project Help forum - should get some more visibility there. :)

Thank you both so much. Moosepr, I'd highly appreciate that. My GG came in today, but still waiting for my calipers to arrive. Not sure when I'll be able to tinker any more, as I'm a truck driver and am heading back out for a few weeks on Monday.

I'm a planner by nature, and I've been trying to plan out exactly how/where everything is going to fit in the case. So far, I know screen dimensions will be a pain as I haven't decided on which to buy, and there's at least (seemingly) a dozen controller board variants. That's killing my OCD with the pre-planning of this project.

Anyway, you guys rock, and thank you again.
