its not pretty but space is tight at the moment there is only an old 1000mah battery I had, only lasts bout an hour I cant have one that's any wider but I can have one 10mm or so longer ill pop it open in a bit but was a pain to close it lol.
I only lost one original screw hole if I could of found a smaller usb hub it would of been better, but I trimmed it as much as I could if I can find a really tiny hub I think I can squeeze a 2000mah battery in.
ive made a lead so can plug a battery bank into the ext usb port and power it off that or can plug one in the charge port as well but it uses more than you can put in that way.

@Brett82 What LCD did you use? can you get a list of parts you used to build it? I think this will be my next project.

Sweet, i had an idea about this, too, but ditched it because of the space.
Add 2 more buttons and i am all yours :) Good work!

x and y are under the shoulder buttons ;).
I used the bw screen from amazon helder and a cheap copy of the adafruit mono amp and a mini usb card for audio I havnt connected to volume wheel or headphone socket yet put plan too soon. this would be a great one to do if you could make some custom boards helder. I thought it was going to be a nightmare but wasn't that difficult the only thing is battery size. I'm on the hunt for a larger one.
have attached a picture to help with hooking up the buttons for anyone who wants to give this ago

Looks a little interesting I just hope they have Included everything on that board it's gonna be tight for screen and driver board with that central piece in there an spi screen would probably fit but as we all know there slow refresh is no good for gaming!
