Tools needed for the mintypi

Here are some tools that you really need or will be very helpful-
Soldering iron
Hot glue gun
File tools
Helping hand
Flush diagonal cutters or side cutters
Screwdriver
Drill with 1.5mm 2mm 2.5mm and 3.5mm drill bits. All the drill bits are not necessary but you do need the 3.5mm one.
Kapton tape
Masking tape (optional)
Some normal scotch tape
3m vhb tape(very very optional)
26awg and 30awg silicone wire. Silicone wires are very very helpful. Get 4 colours for the 30awg and any two for the 26awg as it will help in keeping track of where each wire is.

Another optional one, but good ol' black electrical tape is a nice addition as well. Some complained about getting shorts with parts touching the tin on the inside. Electrical tape (at least the stuff I have = 10 rolls for $5 at Harbor Freight), is the EXACT width from the top brim to the bottom of the insides of these tins. If you line it up properly as you're putting it in, you should only have a tiny bit at the top near the brim. If you run your fingernail along the inside like you're trying to grip the brim, you'll be able to slide the whole perimeter and push the tape inside of it.

I recommend doing this after you've drilled the holes in the tin. Then you can just use your soldering iron to lightly nip into the tape from the outside. Then use a small file to finish off the edges. Looks great when done.
