Setting up Wifi

Post by dashtag » Wed Sep 06, 2017 6:16 am

Hi,
I've burnt the latest image of retropi (with the battery monitoring scripts) using ApplePiBaker, but I can't find the wpa_supplicant.conf file in the boot directory.

Can I just create a new text/conf file and put the 2 lines into it?

Actually what are the 2 lines? Lol

Cheers,

hmm, it should be there, I don't remember what the exact lines say. You have it plugged into your PC? Following the guide, after burning the image, remove the SD card from you computer, and then place it back in. If it's still not in the boot directory viewed from your PC i'd re burn and try again. If still no luck just create your own...If someone can tell the exact line.

Also, from another post from Wermy:

Just to note, the wpa_supplicant.conf file will disappear after you boot the pi. It (meaning retropie, nothing I did) will move it from there to something like /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf (can't remember off the top of my head for sure what the path is).
So if you have booted the pi before editing check here for the file:

/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

Aha! Yes, I checked that it booted in the Pi as soon as I'd burned it.

In the end, I just re-burnt the MintyPi image as I had v2 and I noticed it'd had been upgraded to v3.
