Aren't they the same? There's only one 3.5mm plug on the Pi3. It's normally used to connect to composite I believe using a 3.5mm AV cable the goes to white,yellow, red RCA plugs. I didn't want a bunch of wires directly soldered to the Pi so I made a 3.5mm plug to get the video signal to the screen and the audio signal off the Pi. I believe there are 4 total connections inside the 3.5mm port; ground, video out, L audio, and R Audio.
Very low output Volume

Yeah... it's a massive pain getting my build together, it takes me a good 30 minutes to an hour of moving, wiggling, and manipulating wires to get the two halve together without resistance.... For my next build, I'm going to use a FPC/FFC cable for any wiring going from the front half to back half...

Check this site, you have a schematics of the jack (which ring is what)

Re: Very low output Volume
Did you try plugging a jack and headphone to the port to see if the sound going out is at very low level too which could indicate a software issue ?

Re: Very low output Volume
Did you try with another speaker ? Your speaker seems to be very small but crappy quality and small size leads to low output ?
Re: Very low output Volume
I think I have found the problem!! I found a video on YouTube explaining how to test the pinout on a 5 pin volume knob, and if my testing is right, then my pot wiring is all wrong.
How I have it wired now;
If your holding the pot with the metal part facing you/up and the pins facing north from you, from the left to right= 1,2,3,4, 5.
1- ground
2- Left in
3- Right in
4- Right out
5- Left out.
If my testing is correct, then the pinout with positioning the pot as the same as described above is;
1- Left audio out
2- Right audio out
3- left audio in
4- Right audio in
5- Ground
I changed the wiring. Now volume output has increased but i can tell that one of the channels is still outputting less. I booted up crash bandicoot three, and during the entro, the music was loud, but the voice that says "crash bandicoot warped!" And "press start" was very quiet.
Re: Very low output Volume
The speaker I am using is a GBA speaker because I saw it used in Sotas build and assumed it would have better quality then the one made for 8 bit sound for the DMG.
The amp is being supplied with 5 volts. I tested the resistance on the ground, ins, and outs, everything is less then two ohms.
