Touchscreen Driver on Retropie

Post by px400 » Tue Dec 05, 2017 8:56 pm

Hello guys, I need some help from anyone.

Currently I bought one of these touchscreen that connect to the gpio and need some help to install the driver on retropie and raspberry pi 3 b (after succeed on pi 3 I will try the Pi Zero too).

Since I am a heavy windows user and command line isn't my strongest skill I am here to ask for all gurus for some help or advice.

So, I tried to follow the instructions of the seller (see link):https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/3.5inch_RPi_LCD_(A)

I know that the screen is working because I made one image with raspbian with driver already installed by someone else, but I can't make work on Retropie.

Following the instructions, I stopped at the point that I have to install the drivers. The problem is that I already try both drivers that is said in the link/instructions (170703.tar.gz / 161112.tar.gz) but for sure is missing some command line that I can't figure out by myself.

The screen maker is VKmaker and they use the drivers of waveshare screen.

Any help would be really appreciated!
I will be happy with the screen display some image, the touchscreen isn't necessary.

that screen is no good for retropie.....

the resolution of the screen (480x320) will not give you a decent frame rate to play games.....

and retropie doesn't support touch functions (so even if any drivers were installed, they wouldnt work anyway).....

NB: these questions have already been raised and answered on the forum, a quick search would have save you some bother
