Screen stopped working?

While troubleshooting the speaker issue the screen randomly stopped working? Now only the backlight turns on, but I get no image. I changed the config file and made sure that the HDMI out is producing an image and the pi is still booting (which it is). Did I fry my screen? How do I see what went wrong here?

-Thanks!

Now my GameboyZero works. With Kite's Board and Yaya's help even i was able to build it. 😉
Only thing left is, the shortcuts didn't work.
F.e. (Start+Select) -》Esc (End the Emulation - Go back to RetropieMenu.
Do i have to aktivate the shortcuts? Where i can edit it?

No, you don’t have to activate them. You have to configure the controls within Emulation Station. Once Start and Select are configured and the other controls too, just skip any other input request by long pressing a button. When it comes to shortcut key, skip it also. Emulation Station will ask if you are sure to skip shortcut key blabla... and will ask if you want to use instead Select button. Reply Yes. Validate. Wait. Done

Hi! Those are the wrong USB pads to solder to on the SAIO, those DM/DP pads are actually for the Micro USB port right next to it, not the USB HUB. You need so solder them to the back of the PIUSB connector, you can see that they are labelled:

Just got around to doing this today. Soldering such tiny wires under a microscope was tedious to say the least, but its fixed now! Thank you!

Hi all!

The Super AIO board is a legend and I was able to complete the project in very small time.

I wanted to ask if anybody else had issues with the directional movements.
I've found out that if I tighten or untighten screws it improves or gets worse and I also think this is not related to the board being faulty but more of a...
Mechanical problem?

Can somebody give me a hint about how to fix it?

I cannot go in all diagnonal directions easily, just to be clear.

I totally forgot -- when i wired the new JST connector it was revsersed wiring -- I'm positive i plugged it in with the reverse polarity. I promptly corrected it once i realized the board would not power on-- i noticed nothing out of the ordinary - saw no magic smoke, smell no burnt chip..

After swapping the wires, and getting proper +- Voltages in the proper places, I get 5v with a multimeter at various usb pins. the device turns on and everything else functions -- just no battery charge - Yellow status light comes on and that is it. I get no blue charging light -- what so ever.

Further more I checked it with 2 known good batteries and confirmed with all 3 batteries that another SAIO does indeed charge them and the charge light comes on - on the known good SAIOS.

Where do i start -- are schematics available?

Hi to all,

I just receive my Kite's Board!! Now i have to buy all the others components to start this project!! I'm very excited with this, but i have the first question, and i search in this thread and i didn't found a answer.

I don't know is i need to buy a raspberry pi zero with or without wireless connectivity, because i don't know exactly what is the function the built-in wi-fi module of the kite board. Also, I search in amazon US and i didn't found much raspberry zero available to buy.

Thanks to all and i continue looking more information and learning before start build my gameboy-zero!!

Best regards,

XWOBY!

I HIGHLY recommend you to Buy a Pi Zero W as they are cheap and as Kite’s SAIO does not anymore come shipped with the Wifi module.
You will need (absolutely) the wifi to configure some stuffs on the system, unless you have a linux computer set up.
It’s up to you but the 4/5$ difference between the Zero and the Zero W is worth it.
You can. Uy from thepihut, or pimorini... depends where you are
