Good that you can acces Hdmi now, i've grinded a little from my 2 usb ports, so i could align the pcb 100% straight to the inside of the gb case.
So the pi doesn't sit like / anymore. I also left the original charger port intact and made a little adapter block from pin to micro usb.
I will do another build very soon, i'm thinking of posting some pics of the old one, and the new project, as i'm gonna open it up for camble switch installation i can take some pics. i'm not op happy opening it up again haha but it takes very long for that switch to arrive here for some reason. i also placed a 6000Mah power pack. to make a long story short, it works like a F'ing charm. i'll wait for your pm if you wrote that other image.

Cheers
Thanks Dude,

Managed to get x3 of the original clear protection cases that I think were released with the DMG-01 Clear version for $30 (aus).

Sounds like me, always wanted to carry out a few tweaks! I was massively reluctant to open my original build up again (see posts in AIO support thread) - ended up causing myself audio issues that luckily were a simple fix.

Have also started my 3rd build (2nd is on hold) and tempted to post pics too as this time around ive found much nice L&R triggers which I think look good.

Will be using the image you hooked me up with, too! Will get back to you on that one.

Ive got a 5000MaH pack at my disposal that I haven't used yet, just not sure I can squeeze it in so we'll see

Well, cool, but for the image, you can't use it on a pi zero, it's another one, yet you can push it in another pi 2 or 3 i think, you should just pick some games from it to use, but don't be sad there's few shareware/demo games inside but still it looks nice..
Yeah i had to move one of the bottom case mounts, one of the two in the battery compartiment for my battery pack, i really didn't want to do that but it turned out very well.
I just snipped it off and made a metal piece in the shape of an L (similar looking to the original leftover mount) and placed it a little bit more to the side of the case so i got a centimeter more space. glued it on the side of the wall with not so cheap hot glue!! and it's really strong, in fact if that new mount would break, the original would have broke sooner as that one, i overlapped the L shape plate over the screw hole and made a new hole for the screw, when i tighten it, it pulls and closes very nice.
Maybe you meight end up doing something similar.

Cheers

Hi there,

Im following your project for a while and im really impressed by your work.
Since I would also like to start such project Im interested if you plan to write some instruction how you did your assembly and where you got all the components from.
Im new to the pie so I would very much appreciate if you could share your build on the pie.
Is it for Pie3 or Pie Zero?

Thanks a lot and again great work!

Thanks!

I wouldn't say its the best work on here by far but appreciated all the same.

This is a Pi Zero build. All my builds to date have been Pi Zero.

Essentially i followed @Wermys guide, have you checked out the guides?

For any issues i had i asked in these forums 8-)

My components mainly came from eBay with some specialist parts coming from US and UK directly.

Along with his guide, Wermy also notes the parts you need and links to them. Good luck!

I love the way you drilled the second button holes. I see a very even extra boarder-like drill made around the exterior. What was your method?

I really like your buttons. I have bought now several different Gamepads to get the buttons from but since now all of them have a smaller diameter than the original ones.
Dont know where you got the right ones from.

Thanks. Basically I used the step up drill bit which i used to drill the actuall holes.

The final 12mm notch is too wide for the holes so once you're through with the 11mm i just rotated the drill slowly and moved it in wide circles to add a sort of indent / lip. Hard to explain so hope that makes sense!

Believe me I've tried to get some more without success. Ive since bought about 4 SNES pads from eBay. Even though for the most time the sellers pictures show what look to be the right buttons, when delivered they are different...the controller is a darker grey and buttons shinier, smaller etc. Hit and miss!

Awesome! What did you end up getting from your battery life?

I also had in mind making new shutdown and warning videos as they can be customizable. These have been recycled from popcorns old script. I was thinking shortening the shutdown one to 30 seconds. I'm curious to what talented video makers can come up with. It would be cool to see. :D
