Re: Issue with New build
btw, if your controls and sound are working, then the usb hub on the tinkerboy board should be ok. those are both usb-based too. if you are just having issues getting the external port working, it's probably just bad connections at the wires. make sure you twist the data wires as much as you can to...

Re: HELP? - Odd Screen Problem
have you tried removing the chip completely, and just running the power wire to the pin, where the chip was? I think that people have had better luck on that model with that approach. 100% this, I had similar issues to what you’re experiencing and if you clip that little fucker out you’ll be back i...

Re: Issue with New build
nice color choice, btw. :) the build i'm doing at the moment is almost the same setup, with the nes and gameboy combo (but i reversed mine - i like the gameboy ones on the x/y and eh nes on the a/b). my shell is the light blue instead of the teal too, but i like that as well :D Thanks man I really ...

Re: Issue with New build
Sorry I meant I got 5v from all of the 5v pads, not actually everywhere. I think we’re up and running aside from the usbport... half tempted to just leave it out at this point. Pretty stoked iv managed to get the controller to work and even added a few roms. Thankyou for your help, patience, and tim...

Re: Issue with New build
I went ahead and removed that USB port and also reflashed my sd card and now I seem to have the controls working. I’m going to try a brand new usb connector and see if that makes a difference, maybe I got solder inside the port or something? I went ahead and tested what you recommended some things i...

Re: Issue with New build
I have wired it back up this way and now and the controls don’t work, I tried to plug a keyboard into the USB port and then it turned off and the Powerboost light turned red. Any clues there? Iv tripple checked the USB port is wired right but maybe you could confirm for me. Iv also reached out to ti...

Re: Issue with New build
To clarify do you mean
Wire the pi to the Powerboost.
Wire the 2nd output on the Powerboost to the tinkerBOY.
And then wire the screen and pi to the tinkerBOY?
So the pi is hooked up to both the tinkerBOY’s 5v and directly to the Powerboost ?
Sorry if I misunderstood

Re: Issue with New build
It is working for the screen and pi, but without power to the tinkerBOY the controls aren’t working so I think I’ll have to keep digging into it. Again thankyou very much for the advice.

Re: Issue with New build
Thanks so much for the help, I have it rewired directly to the Powerboost and everything is powered and working.
Would it be fair to say the problem is the tinkerBOY board? Any tips on troubleshooting the board or is it possible it is just defective?

Re: Issue with New build
if i had to guess, i'd say the problem is the screen, or the battery. that looks like a gearbest, so maybe just try hooking the power into the normal spot, instead of trying the 5v workaround. it should work fine from that original pad. where is the power going into that from btw? Thanks I will try...
