Re: Boxypixel DMG shell fit June 2020 circuit sword???

The CM3+ that comes with Kite's newer kits won't fit in the Boxy Pixel shell without modifying the shell - the built-in heat sink is too big. If you are fortunate enough to have access to a CNC machine you can do this yourself, but for the rest of us it is likely easier to just buy a CM3 lite board ...

Re: Compute Module 3 vs 3+?

I contacted Kite to ask about this issue. In case others are interested, here are my questions and his responses in italics: (a) Is there much of a performance difference between the CM3 and CM3+ when running Retro Pie with your kit? I'm trying to decide whether to just order a CM3 and get it instal...

Compute Module 3 vs 3+?

I ordered the Circuit Sword CM3 kit last Summer and it arrived around Christmas time. I decided to wait to install it in a Boxy Pixel shell which only arrived the other day. I've just discovered the the BP shell is designed for the CM3 but my kit from Kite came with the CM3+. Is there much of a perf...

Re: GameBoy RR (Rolls Royce)

I've got the same problem. My shell arrived and I discovered it is for the CM3 and not the CM3+ that came with my Summer 2019 Circuit Sword CM3+ kit. This is really frustrating since I got it shipped to the UK and I can't use it. I also don't have access to a CNC machine. Is there much difference in...

Re: [GUIDE] [UPDATE! Part 2] Soldering School - AKA Don't wreck your new AIO board!

I'm just getting into soldering ready for my first Circuit Sword build. I have a question. Should I be wearing gloves when handling solder? If so, what kind are best?

Re: Power Switch not working and not booting

I also just had the same problem. The wiki really needs to be updated to make it clear that the blue TABS need to face upwards. The picture in the wiki shows the text facing upwards, but for my cable the text faces down as the blue tabs are on the other side. I was pulling my hair out trying to figu...

Re: PCH-2000 Joystick Breakout Boards

I'm interested. I just ordered the DMG-CM3 shell. Expensive, but I couldn't resist - it looks stunning and it actually saves on getting a load of 3D printed parts produced, and a load of work modding a plastic shell. I'm just a little sad my dremel isn't going to get any use now. I would have enjoye...

Re: [FOR-SALE] Slim 4 Soft Back Button PCB, Caps and 3D Parts (OPEN)

I'm about to order this with a few other items. I have a question beforehand - are you able to source NES-style concave button caps for this? (i.e. ones that are sunken in the middle rather than being raised). I really like the idea of having the normal raised buttons for L1/R1 and then the other ty...

Very cool! How did you engrave A and B on the actual buttons?

How necessary is the fan in the Circuit Sword CM3?

My Circuit Sword CM3 kit came with the heat sink but not the fan, but I have seen some people adding one to their build. How necessary is the fan? Is passive cooling via the heat sink sufficient, or do people find the device gets very hot without a fan as well? I'm curious to hear what people's expe...
