Re: Pi in a PSP

I've used ceramic 10uf caps and the remedy of the hum seems to be to use some ferrite beads in line with the output audio both the positive and negative. I have 16,000 of these beads (overkill I know but it was at a great deal), if we work on this together then I can throw you some beads for testin...

Re: Pi in a PSP

I used the PWM filter then feed it into a potentiometer which then went to the AMP and finally output to a speaker and headphone. The PSP has 2 speakers right? then you can easily add stereo to it if that's the case. The power board I have designed (will be here this week for testing) is 2 fold and...

Re: Pi in a PSP

Nice ! Once you have the final pinout I'll route things for you. Now would be a good time to add anything else you want to that large empty board. Any other schematics you plan to add to this? I'm going one of two directions. Either I'm going to add everything to this board, or I'm going to do the ...

Re: Pi in a PSP

Okay I think everything is wired properly. I'm still making changes to GPIO pin assignment, but that won't affect the layout, only the routing. All the Eagle files are in my Google Drive https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B-1BuEPtr7jlNlRtWElVLURWVWM&usp=sharing Schematic http://othermod.com/wp-...

Re: Pi in a PSP

Well if you had a schematic with however you plan to wire things like you have on your site and to what GPIO pins I would wire everything up and add the ground plane (very easy to do). After I did all that I'll post it here so you can see how it's done and edit it as you fit. I've spent the last fe...

Re: Pi in a PSP

Do you m ind posting the schematic? I see that the GND isn't connected to anything on the board and there is a chip off the board on the right. A schematic will make it easy to see what you're doing. I would post it if I had done this properly. I made this as a board and not a schematic, half becau...

Re: Pi in a PSP

I'll have a look at it. Are you suing GPIO pins for the controls? also if you print the board outline on paper it will be a perfect representation of what a board would look like so you can test dimensions that way too. Yes, GPIO pins are used for controls using Adafruit's RetroGame. That's exactly...

Re: Pi in a PSP

I can help you out as I'm doing a powerboard right now for one of my projects but having dimensions or a mockup of the board shape and dimensions will be helpful. http://othermod.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/progress.png I've been working on this since yesterday afternoon. It's still very rough, ...

Re: Pi in a PSP

Do you have an idea of how and where you want to mount this? having an idea of placement helps in getting a board shape made and also where you can put components so it all ties in easily. Some if not many of those extra components you used like the Amp can all be integrated into this board, hell e...

Re: Pi in a PSP

[ Use a ground plane, rather than routing ground to each place (google this) Any power carrying make as thick as needed.. thin wires don't carry a lot of power and work for signal wires, but 5V wires need to be a lot thicker. For example power going from the 5V pin, through the fet, into the Pi (an...
