Very cute!
What's the 12VDC for? Did you sneak in a buck converter in between the pics? ;D

Bare metal PICO-8 sounds fascinating, have to explore this concept further..
The screen needs 12v - there is indeed a switching voltage regulator in there to knock that down to 5v for the pi zero.

This is completely awesome. What kind of case and buttons did you use? How did you do the case graphics? Is there a way to safely shut it down?
Buttons are standard 24mm Sanwa. Case is an ABS enclosure from Digikey. I just turn it off and had no problems yet.

Re: Vectrex Joystick Controllers

They are a sticky cold laminated textured vinyl. www.arcadeartshop.com can print your designs on the same material.

Re: pi 3a+ power consumption?

I'll try another cable. The one I'm using was brand new from Amazon, but doesn't have an amperage rating on it...

Thanks!

pi 3a+ power consumption?

I was getting the low power icon with my pi3a+ joystick build. I'm using a regular usb plug to the wall (like a phone charger thing) which goes to a panel mount plug and then into the micro usb of the pi. I got a 2a plug and I'm still getting it. I have no other perihperals plugged into the pi's oth...

Vectrex Joystick Controllers

Seeing as the origibnal Vectrex controllers are analog and there's only 2 original analog games - I thought we needed a decent digital arcade style stick for the vectrex. I use these boxes on nearly all of the sticks I make and vary the overlays, buttons, balltops. Seeing as the boxes are quite 'mini'...

Pico 8 Console

I love the idea of Pico 8 as a 'fantasy' console that never was - but I went and made a 'real' one! I used a bare metal version of Pico 8 for the Pi by the late Guillermo Amaral, so it loads in about 10 seconds. Has a usb nes pad hack iniside for controls. Very limited by the bare metal version for ...

Vectrex Asteroids Controllers

Here are some controllers I made for the Vectrex. They are meant for playing a number of games on the Vectrex, but mainly of rthe arcade ports of the Asteroids type games on the special VECFEVER cart. The first prototype - IMG_0286.JPG The standard types (arcade upright RWB & cabaret b&w) IMG_0062.j...

Re: I invented a new handheld layout!

Very clever! Fooled me at first - I was thinking "Where's the controls?"
