Re: Spykerwolf's build log - GBZ - custom parts

- The case still doesn't close & I've ordered a smaller barrel connector & plug from aliexpress. - The one at the moment is a 2.5mm one & I had to drill the DC plug hole a bit bigger. - The 3d printed brackets are also struggling with the screws that came with the case, so will get some ones. - Also...

Re: Spykerwolf's build log - GBZ - custom parts

Thanks Sudafed, I've wired it up without the extra button for now but appreciate the input. Took 2 extra days to rearrange & rewire almost everything in order to make it fit. The gauge on some of the power wires were too thick, which gave me difficulty closing the case. The case still doesn't close ...

Re: Spykerwolf's build log - GBZ - custom parts

Regarding that powerbank module... i had the same but it was flaky and i replaced it with a similar one from aliexpress (mh cd42) which solved most issues. Either way the basic wiring is simple. Just connect bat, vin, vout and gnd. Then you will need extra push button to start or stop the integrate...

Re: Spykerwolf's build log - GBZ - custom parts

Battery wise - I got a power bank & removed the li-po battery: - Removed the power bank cover & used baking powder to help make the sticky stuff not sticky  - probably the most nerve wrecking thing I've done IMG_20211104_182608.jpg IMG_20211105_160326.jpg - Had to grind down some of the plastic...

Re: Spykerwolf's build log - GBZ - custom parts

- Installed the speaker, 3.5mm jack, amplifier, volume wheel & low pass filter.
- It's a bit of a squeeze but the case does close.

Re: Spykerwolf's build log - GBZ - custom parts

Gave up for a few weeks & gave it another go. Unfortunately I didn't take much photos: - Low pass filter created on breadboard & then transferred over to a pcb. audioFilter.jpg audioFilterPCB.jpg - Button PCB installed & wired up to the rpi zero w - Buttons salvaged from a SNES controller. mario.jpg...

Re: Spykerwolf's build log - GBZ - custom parts

I realized I installed the display the wrong way as it had part of the screen showing behind the case. It also had a silver bit that needed to be taped up - something I couldn't easily do without removing it first: screenWRONG.PNG It was a mission getting it out & I read alcohol should help with the...

Re: Spykerwolf's build log - GBZ - custom parts

Made some progress since my last post: - Drilled extra holes for the buttons & tested the controller board pcbTest.jpg holesDrilled.jpg - Salvaged the button wells from an aftermarket SNES controller buttonWellsFromSNES.jpg messyButtonWellsAndScreenMounted.jpg It was really tricky getting the button...
