yes, the socket doens't matter. You can take whatever you like..as long as you have the matching 5V power supply for it.

That's a valid point, maybe setting the system volume to 1-10% does the trick

you could try to put the resistors back in place. Don't mix them up and soldering SMD type things with a normal solder iron is kind of tricky. Why didn't you trained on an old piece of hardware before?

it should be a software exclusive problem when you cut the power after the shutdown. Cause after powering it on again the pi will boot.
