Re: MintyPi v3

Sorry. Just getting back to the forum. The build is straight forward. Get a couple of tins and use a file for the USB C and a step bit for the shoulder buttons after drilling a pilot hole. Drill bits tend the miss shape the thin tin. Or use a file for those too. I have built 10 gameboy Zeros. The fi...

Re: Shoulder Buttons Fell Out...

Here is a picture of my remote buttons with the last remaining kit button I could find.

The pads on the inside are left large to keep them from pulling out again. You can see how large I left the membrane from what missing in the remote and how small the standard button is.

Recommended path to updating the image?

What is the recommended method to update the image on the SD card?

Can we use the update function in the RetroPie menu or update/upgrade from prompt? Should we remove the SD card and write a completely new image?

I am running the first image and wanted to get the benefits of using the latest.

Re: Shoulder Buttons Fell Out...

I had this exact issue. I ultimately lost one of my buttons. I ordered a new set from wermy but figure it would happen again. My fix: I have a dozen old tv remote controls around the house. I found one that had a few button the right size and color and cut down the membrane to fit and give them more...

Re: MintyPi v3

Thanks!

Parts from Wermy and Helder arrived on the 13th. I was one of the first batch.

MintyPi v3

This is my first MintyPi build. Its nothing special, if fact it looks exactly like the one from the build video.

It took a little longer than expected but I now have a little something to travel with. Overall a very fun build.

Huge thanks to Wermy and Helder for making this kind of thing possible.

Re: v3 Display Not Working

It took me a few tries to get the reflow right. I have done similar work before but this was a little more difficult for some reason. Use plenty of flux and add a touch of solder if needed. I had a white screen then it went black. I noticed when I turned my shop and bench lights off the screen had a...

Re: All white screen sanity check

New problem. It took a few tries to get it to take but it worked once. Well, 1/2 a time. I finally got a picture on the screen for the first time. I saw the RetroPi logo and about 1/2 a second of the minty Pi logo then the screen went dark. I waited a few minutes and nothing. I powered down and back...

Re: All white screen sanity check

Thanks!

I totally missed that. I haven’t been on Instagram in a few days. I had a feeling the problem was back there but I wanted to ask before I dissembled Helder’s magical assembly.
