It could be interference from the audio lines, quick test would be disable pwm audio and see if the "sparkles" disappear, it that is the case then perhaps reroute wiring or add shielding to the audio lines

I too am having the same issue, the screen is perfectly clear if pmw is not in use. I believe I read in a previous post that moving the ground away from the composite output can introduce interference.
