Re: Elite Wii U Gamepad with RetroPi 3

Thank you so much for this in-depth guide of everything you've done. After a quick going over I feel like there is nothing here I can't handle and am looking forward to building my own after picking up an incredibly cheap wii u tablet with a broken screen. I have experience with soldering but have ...

Re: Elite Wii U Gamepad with RetroPi 3

IrieMars, did you you purchase a mini-USB port connector (in addition to the regular USB-A connectors) to wire to the Teensy? I think you mentioned that but I missed that in the parts list. No. I think the Teensy came with a micro usb to usb. What I did was strip it down to the bare wires. I kept t...

Re: Noob Tries to Make a Pii U (Wii U Retropie Gamepad)

Great work. Props for taking this on. It was a big pain in my ass to be honest but happy with the results. Don't forget the HDMI ribbon cable between the pie and your screed. One of my biggest regrets was not paying more attention to cable size and management. 26 Gauge is the way to go. Good look ma...

Re: Elite Wii U Gamepad with RetroPi 3

Thank you! So I reckon the battery charger you just mentioned is the charging board you listed in your materials list but noted that you didn’t end up using. And I noticed that the best builds I’ve seen don’t use a heatsink. I know every millimeter of space is precious, but I have seen some relativ...

Re: Elite Wii U Gamepad with RetroPi 3

IrieMars, thank you for the great resource here. I’d like to try it for myself. Knowing what you know now, if you were going to start again from scratch, what would you use for your battery setup, if you wanted a chargeable, portable situation? It sounds like the uBoost would not get your full endo...

Re: Elite Wii U Gamepad with RetroPi 3

Any help out be greatly appreciated Did you change the code to use a USB device instead of the audio jack right?...

Re: Elite Wii U Gamepad with RetroPi 3

IrieMars, First, thank you for the wonderful post. Did you have to mod the case for the screen or did you change the size in the code? If you did change it digitally, could you post the settings you used? I'll be undergoing this project very soon. I just rotate the screen. The ratio of the screen c...

Re: Green Alex's Wii U gamepad w/ Rpi3

"I'm helping" Looking clean, and thanks for the shot out. As for your Pi, have you considered a PiZero? As for the speakers, I used the originals (or at least the one's that came in the shell I ordered) and to be honest I ended up using a amp with a built in POT. I tried using the black dial one Ban...

Thanks for the tutorial. One question I have is, why didn't you just use the audio from the 3.5 jack on the Pi? Why go through the trouble of using the USB audio converter?
The audio on the Pie is horrible from my exp. Much better through the HDMI or USB audio IMO.
