Re: [GUIDE] Battery icon indicator guide with MCP3008

@activex: I started a project with a arduino leonardo based solution on measuring battery voltage (analog in) and usage of i2c to transmit it to the raspberry. Also i used averaging of the measured voltages over 10s to make the indicator stable. pros are: no additional components, if you are alread...

Re: [GUIDE] Battery icon indicator guide with MCP3008

This looks awesome! Does the battery indicator always show, even on top of games? Or is it only shown on the menu? If the latter, is there a way to configure a button combination to display the indicator so I can check how much battery I have left without exiting the game? In any case, great work. ...

Re: [GUIDE] Battery icon indicator guide with MCP3008

1/ On this picture, we can see a grey wire connected to #21 on pi gpio, but going nowhere. Do you have an explanation? Just an editing error, its not supposed to be there in the first place ;) 2/ Your white wire is going to CS0 pin, but I can't find it on this GPIO chart ? Does-it correspond to SPI...

The battery connects directly to the MCP3008 and directly to the power boost?

Re: [GUIDE] Battery icon indicator guide with MCP3008

Barbosik wrote:Yes i know.

My Question was, how to wire everything up. The battery would be charged by the powerboost.
Yes, the powerboost is connected to charge the battery as usual. And the mcp analog input is also connected straight to the battery. See the schematic in the link in the first post

Barbosik wrote:Hey,

can someone help me? How can i connect the banggood powerboost?
This is just a battery monitor, not shutdown, so it doesn't connect to the powerboost at all.

Cyborg_delta1 wrote:Would this work with the smaller MCP3004 IC and would this go between your battery and charging circuit?
I guess so, the main difference is the number of inputs, the size seems to be very similar.
