hm. if everything has good connectivity and it's still not working, then maybe it is a bad amp. if it's an adafruit one, they might replace it for you if you contact them. just to be sure - you used the gpio pin numbering, right? sometimes the physical pn numbers vs the gpio numbering can mess peop...

I just tested on two pi zeros and a pi 3. no sound on any of them.

hm. i haven't had a bad one yet, but i suppose it is possible. do you get any sound at all? have you disabled the pwm audio in the config? . Hey, before doing anything else I would rule out the volume wheel being the issue using the pin out below by bridging the 2nd and 5th pins and 3rd and 4th pins and then turning it back on and seeing you have audio through the speaker/headphones or both https://cdn.instructables.com/FGM/Z53Z/GB288KI...
