Re: Lamp Zapper Guide

I know this is an old project, but hoping someone with more experience can help me. I'm pretty unga-bunga when it comes to programming. My boss is actually responsible for the design of the US NES and Zapper, and I'm building him a sort of trophy for his career achievements. I thought it would be aw...

Re: DS Lite Raspberry Pi zero W

I second Veteran on this. It's an awesome project, but daunting and likely demoralizing for a first run. With enough persistence and patience, I'm sure you could pull it off, but why not tackle something that'll help you build your skills and knowledge first. I'd hate for any prospective modder to g...

Re: Custom Orange-Pi Portable

Hey all, I apologise for my extended absence. My masters work was heading into the final stretch so I had to pull back from...well..everything to concentrate on it. I've since come out the other side with my degree and a shiny new job to go along with it (to fuel my portables addicti...hobby). In ad...

Re: Wermy Inspired DMG Stand

Nice; now you just need to put the charging port out the headphone jack and make it a charging docking station....maybe with some LEDs!

Re: Low/High-Pass Filter helps to remove noise

I've used the bottom one that I believe was first posted by wermy. It works alright, but not as big of an effect as I was expecting. With PWM, even filtered it's acceptable but not great quality. Only difference I see with the top one is putting the cap after the ground filtering. I don't see a purp...

Re: Best 3D modeling software? (perf. for Mac)

Google SketchUp is workable and last time I used it, was free. I'm not sure if it's still available, but Rhino's Mac version has been free for awhile while still in its experimental stages. Not sure if that has expired. Autodesk (great company, have met with them on a number of occasions) has Fusion...

Re: Do use the external usb on your GBZ build whether it's a Pi Zero W or Pi 3?

I thought I would for installing new roms and the like, but after the initial boot, I haven't ever used it. I SSHed in once or twice to change a couple settings, so if I didn't have the Pi0 W it would've been handy. It also helps that I fried the USB ports on my first two Pis, so I got used to just ...

Re: What 3d Printer do you have?

I love my Anet A8. It's a RepRap style, DIY build. So you need to be a little handy to put it together properly, but if you're on this forum, chances are you'll have no problems. The print quality is fair Was looking on getting this one as a budget start. I have heard some rumors about the poor qua...

Re: Gameboy DMG with Analog Stick Instead of D-Pad

Hey all, I made a little bezel for my scratch-built orange pi portable. Here's the file I'm using, though it's purpose built to fit into a socket in the front shell. The flanges in the back fit a PSP 1000 snugly and are flush with the bottom of the housing, but let me know if you want the bezel itse...

Re: Game Boy Zero case CAD files

Really cool finish. You can try using water with the sanding paper to achieve a better result ! How do you think you are going to finish the small gaps on the outsides ? Did you try some acetone vapor to give a glossy finish to the model ? Another hot tip from a professional model maker: add some d...
