I bypassed the USB hub and soldered the green and white wires from the teensy to the green and white wires on the Pi along with connecting the two power cables (red and black) from the teensy to the power strip. By bypassing the USB hub do you mean to remove it and conect the wires directly from the Pi to the teensy.

Having followed Wermy's guide for the GBZ, I have managed to get the majority of the main components assembled, installed and working. I don't think you need any external components, all the components you need for the filter are on the pcb. PWM0 is GPIO18 and PWM1 is GPIO13 on your raspberry pi. You connect those directly. And if I understand it correctly the output of the filter RIGHT and LEFT go to your potentiometer. Thank you...
