Jetson Nano

The next generation of Jetson SBCs from NVIDIA just got announced: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/autonomous-machines/embedded-systems/jetson-nano/ I believe the Jetson Nano willl fit in a Game Boy, it'll almost certainly be a battery killer (current estimates are between 5 to 10 Watts, versus approxi...

I like your mini joystick design. Reminds me of the some of the joysticks used for Neo Geo hardware (Neo Geo CD joypad / Neo Geo Pocket / Neo Geo Pocket Color).

Re: MintiPi Compute Module

Thanks for the suggestion but if you are expecting me or someone else to go to great lengths to prove it can be done and if it's more cost effective (which it isn't) then you will be waiting a long time. I don't mind a suggestion about things but let's be realistic here and take the advice from the...

Re: MintiPi Compute Module

In terms of making it work, it's plausible that it could fit as long as you used a single PCB for the button contacts, power and the SODIMM slot. It'd probably still be a tight fit (and may need a slimmer battery), but it doesn't seem completely out of the question. There could also be the possibil...

Re: MintiPi Compute Module

It's worth bearing in mind that there have been two different Compute Module models released to date, the CM1 and the CM3. Both are still available to purchase AFAIK. The CM1 has similar specs to the Pi Zero, so in theory it should work without requiring extra cooling or a larger battery. Whether i...

I'm not sure how to go about doing an email notification system, if someone knows a simple way to do it I'm all ears.
If you want something super simple, I'd suggest setting up a sudomod mailing list on Freelists...

Re: Best emulation handheld? (Besides GBZ)

Probably the Pandora, until the Pyra is released later this year. They're much more expensive than a GBZ though.

Re: mintyPi Screen

I don't think anyone actually commented on this, so I'll ask again. Since there's been mention of using just the bare board with a custom adapter PCB, would it be possible to go even bigger than 2.4"? If we don't need to use the screen's board at all, that should free up a bunch of space. Unless I'...

Re: PSA: Battery Safety

If anyone's feeling super cautious about battery safety, LiFePo4 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_iron_phosphate_battery ) are known to be one of the safest battery types. They're the battery type used in many electric cars for that reason. It's also common to see them used in power tools (fo...
