This is genius. Won my Mintypi so Wermy did the actual soldering, but was thinking of making something like the GBA pi thing that Ryzee made. Gonna need to brush up on the necessary technique.

My only guess is that it's to avoid having to have any sort of storage for settings. If I ever need to have a pi boot from usb, I'll just have it handoff from the sd card. Unless it's a zero. Those are cheap enough I don't feel bad making permanent changes to it.

Heard somewhere that the cost of all those ad supported websites, if you paid for them instead of letting them sell off your personal info, would be $12 a year. Not per site. Total. So yeah, I'll support the site.

You set a fuse to do it so no, it's permanent.

Most button solutions are just connected directly to gpio pins. So they won't work. Anything involving a teensy should work fine though. That's sort of teensy's deal.

From what I can see, the mausberry is the same as the atxraspi or any of the other safe shutdown systems. When you frob the button or the switch an attiny sends a signal to the pi which runs the shutdown script. As its final act the pi sends a signal back. The attiny waits a few seconds to be sure, ...
