When I plug a micro usb straight into the pi, everything correctly receives power, including the powerboost. When I plug power into the powerboost, nothing receives power. How can I fix this?

I'm working on my own version of a Gameboy zero using a Zero-W board, Helder's Aio pcb, and a Powerboost from adafruit.
I absolutely can not stand micro USB. Do you guys know any way of using a type c? How would I wire it?
