PiBoy

I'd been following the PiBoy from https://www.experimentalpi.com/ for a while and it looked like a really solid project. They reached a point where it appeared they were going out of pre-order status and into place an order get your unit. As any of us who've done these sorts of things know something...

Re: Two new Builds

I enjoy building them it is challenging yet relaxing, I've already started on a new build with a bunch of spare parts I found while cleaning up my shelf. At some point..the wife is going to make me get rid of some of these though.

Two new Builds

With so much free time due to not being able to go out and do thing things I normally would I've been trying to clear out some of the long standing projects that I've worked on occasionally. Recently I finished two Gameboy builds. #1 Circuit Sword With 640x480 screen. 20200301_200305.jpg 20200301_21...

Re: Gameboy Zero Question.

There are websites like glitchdgaming.com and pocketadventures.com that sell common ground boards along with other components to make your build cleaner/easier if you're not using an AiO board.

Be careful with superglue - if you’re thinking of using it around the screen it can cause hazing on the screen itself from the fumes.
It is also not as forgiving as got glue if you need to strip things out to rebuild something.

Re: Inserts behind buttons for tactile feedback?

I've had builds that needed support to make the buttons feel better (my opinion) and I've had builds that didn't need them. It could be the style if buttons I was using too, I've used NES style buttons as X/Y for some builds.

PocketPI FE issue

I've finally gotten around putting my PocketPI FE together, checked the 4 used pins for the battery monitor, soldered the pi on and got my image written to an SD card. It took me a little digging to find that I couldn't use the windows share to transfer games, not a big deal WINSCP to the rescue. Ho...

Re: Battery swelling in my build.

I have used several of those batteries across varying builds. They have not been in storage for any significant time and see semi-regular use. I'll double check them when I get home and see if any are showing signs you describe.

Re: adafruit screen on pi 4

I do not know if there is a solder pad for Composite on the Pi 3/4 boards, I believe you have to use the RCA Jack. According to this you have to modify the config to enable it and it will cause some decrease in performance.
