Re: Solder Paste/Hot Air Rework Gun for mintypi
For incidental smd soldering a fine tip iron and flux will do the trick just fine. Get a bottle of liquid smd flux, wet the components good and put a tiny blob of tin on your iron. The flux will make the tin flow perfectly. Check youtube for instructions, search for smd flux soldering. But if you ha...

Re: Tony85's V2 Mintypi
I just opened it up for a quick shot. I was a bit generous with the hot glue, i had the lower bracket come loose on me once. looks good man, wouldn't mind seeing the guts of it, I'm curious how you got all that on the back of the tin Yeah, hot glue nasty looking but i does the job (most of the time...

Re: Mintypi startup video
What did you write into this file to deactivate the video? You can remove this lines in the script: sleep 5s omxplayer -o alsa -b --layer 10000 "/home/pi/mintyPi/minty-splash.mp4" & sleep 25s sudo pkill omxplayer Or better comment them out: #sleep 5s #omxplayer -o alsa -b --layer 10000 "/home/pi/mi...

sudo pkill omxplayer

Re: Minty Pi v3 FAQ
Shipping batterys indeed is a risky thing, i know (especially for the seller). But the mintypi community is international so pointing people in the right direction seems imho a good thing. I can guess that most of the non us v3 buyers would want that exact battery (with or without the really nice st...

Re: Minty Pi v3 FAQ
Nice faq, Only one question, i think i already know the answer but will ask anyway... Why do international buyer have to source their own battery? And if, the battery seems to be a rather important new part and not as common as the v2 type lipo so some good pointers would be advisable. No battery no...

When i enable the splash screen through the splash menu i get two videos playing at the same time, the o...

There's a dutch proverb that says "conceit stinks" but in your case it is covered by the sweet smell of mint ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
