I ran this and still ran into the same issue. Since the GPIO controller is set up as a keyboard emulator it registers as a keyboard and will overrule the other configs. I took a risk and ordered the recommended cables since they were available. Plugged it in and still had crashing issues. I then built a test setup around a raspberry pi zero I had used previously and it worked with no issue. Seems the pi I built my prs zero around was a faulty unit. Lesson learned.....
