When I had snipped off the port with a pair of cutter, I had accidentally cut into the board and exposed some metal which shorted out one of the connections because my solder joined to it ...

I'm researching it. It looks like there's hardware solutions, but they're too big for the MintyPi and cost several times more than a Pi Zero. I wonder if it's possible to underclock on the fly.

I finally figured out that the sound card had a groove scraped into from when I was removing the headphone jack, and it revealed the metal beneath, which means that my connections were shorted to ground. Did some more testing. Soldered the hole beneath the A button and tested for ground continuity. Seems to be fine. Checked VCC and GND for voltage and I am getting 5v on it. Also checked that the sound card is getting the 5v, and it is. Checked for a short to ground at the two usb points and it doesn...

I couldn't seem to get clear close up pictures with my phone camera. I checked continuity, and connections seem to be fine. I get a short when I check the connections to the speaker, but I assume it's because it's mono.
