Re: Circuit Gem battery
FWIW, I've tried a uxcell 600mAh 503040 that was previously available in the US via Prime. I had to thin out the back side of the case to get it to fit correctly. Seems like a 5mm thick battery is pushing it a bit too far. The Adafruit 500mAH 503035 was also a bit of a squeeze. I finally received to...

Re: Circuit Gem battery
This really helps, thanks! I'm using the same battery so it's great to know that the HDMI and micro USB connectors have to come off. Do you have any special tips to share about how you removed those connectors? The holes look a bit small for a solder sucker, so I'm assuming wick needs to be used? A...

[Solved] Circuit Gem - phantom key presses in RetroPi menus
I believe you can turn this off under the Emulation Station menu: 1. Open the menu, choose 'UI Settings' 2. Toggle 'Quick System Select' to 'OFF' That should prevent it switching from within the games list for a system. Perfect, that fixed the issue completely, thank you @djbriane! Thanks @Kite for...

[Solved] Circuit Gem - phantom key presses in RetroPi menus
Anyone else seeing this issue? When I'm scrolling through a list of a console's games in the RetroPi menus, my fat thumbs sometimes will make a diagonal movement instead of up or down. The results in the Retropi menu switching to a different console and continually pressing up or down such that the...

Re: Circuit Gem no video/blank screen
... notice something very strange, however: The multimeter beeps when I touch GPIO 16 and M-LCD FMARK . After noticing this, I decided to test continuity between GPIO 16 and 18 (18 is supposed to be connected to pad M). Surely enough, 16 and 18 do indeed register as connected. Regardless, if anyone...

Re: Circuit Gem VMU
Thank you for this build @smoki86! Looking at your "bonus picture while I had it open" shows quite a few component indents on the battery. Is it still too thick at 4.5mm? Wondering if there is still enough space to shim in a plastic card between the battery and the Pi Zero to prevent any punctures w...

Re: Circuit Gem battery
I was going to set about thinning my RPi in preparation but I'm confused about the two capacitors circled in blue. It appears as if Kite has replaced the larger ones that were there with smaller ones, no details on this though. Any ideas? I believe (don't have a Pi Zero yet) the upper part circled ...

Re: Circuit Gem battery
I needed to order a PiZero W anyway from AdaFruit, so I picked up one of their 503035 500mAH batteries along with some flux for connector removals off of the PiZero. Also ordered via prime delivery a 503040 600mAH battery . Hopefully one or both of those batteries should fit... Really wanted to try ...

Re: Circuit Gem battery
I'm looking very closely at @satri360's VMU build at https://sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=6917 and see a 503035 battery fitting into the case.
Lots of other good VMU build info there too, especially the case mods as they look to be similar for Kite's board.

Since the Circuit GEM wiki is missing info on the battery and Kite has been on a roll shipping orders like crazy, I'd like to get a battery option figured out. ...
