Re: Powering Raspberry Pi 2 and TFT screen at once via battery?

wermy wrote:The USB port is actually not connected when you buy it. It comes in the bag but soldering it onto the board is optional. So yes you could wire your blue/brown wires up to the power boost and use it that way easily. :)
Alright, I guess this topic is solved then. Thanks a LOT!

Re: Powering Raspberry Pi 2 and TFT screen at once via battery?

Looks like @Sander added this as an alternative in the wiki: http://www.banggood.com/37V-Liion-Battery-Mini-USB-To-USB-A-Power-Apply-Module-p-928948.html?p=9B1915347037201311DI Source: http://sudomod.com/wiki/index.php?title=GBZ_Power_Supply So if I use this, I can easily charge it via micro USB. Re: Powering Raspberry Pi 2 and TFT screen at once via battery?

And yes that Adafruit one should work (they mention in the description it can supply upwards of 1A which should be enough). For a few more bucks, though I'd recommend the set up from that (the Powerboost 1000C). It will supply enough charging current (1A or 1000mA, which is where the 1000 comes fro...

Re: Powering Raspberry Pi 2 and TFT screen at once via battery?

When you say "connect the board via USB" do you mean connect the pi/screen? Or the boost board? As you can see on the picture I posted before I connected the Adafruit board to this boost board. What I meant before is the connection between the Adafruit board and my notebook. So it's basically like ...

Re: Powering Raspberry Pi 2 and TFT screen at once via battery?

It looks like the step-up board you are using can only "take out" 500mA of current from the battery at any given time. So when I connect the board via USB to my notebook it skips this whole conversion thingy and I get more than 500mA? I just looked for a board that provides more than 500mA but I co...

Re: Powering Raspberry Pi 2 and TFT screen at once via battery?

Uhm... somehow this doesn't make sense to me actually. What happens when I connect the Adafruit board via USB to another power source? My MacBook for example. In that case everything works fine, but the step-up board still outputs only 500mA maximum, right? So isn't the problem caused by the battery...

Re: Powering Raspberry Pi 2 and TFT screen at once via battery?

This page lists a bunch of specs for what looks to be the board you have: https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ko&u=http://www.smelchi.com/product/detail%3FproductCd%3D739352&prev=search It mentions the max output current as being 500mA. So that looks to be your issue right there: 500mA ...

Re: Powering Raspberry Pi 2 and TFT screen at once via battery?

Right I was saying the board you have looked like it might be an all in one, like the Adafruit Powerboost boards (so charging + the 3.7v -> 5v boost). After digging some more though I'm not so sure. But what could I do to make it work? You said it's possible that the problem is caused by the board,...

Re: Powering Raspberry Pi 2 and TFT screen at once via battery?

It's hard to tell, especially with how rough their english is, but it looks like you may not need the Adafruit board. They mention over/undercharge protection several times in their listing, maybe indicating that this is both a charging board and a boost all in one. But does it even matter in this ...

Re: Powering Raspberry Pi 2 and TFT screen at once via battery?

I think the most important factor here will be what charging/boost board you are using. Can you post a link to that? http://www.ebay.com/itm/130725341903 It's possible that I did something wrong there, I'm still not quite sure how it works. I attached a charger board (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Adafru...
