Re: Overheating / Rapid Battery Drain Issue

I dont have the same screen as ypu but I have the Gearbest one. When I bypassed to 5V regulator on the display’s PCB I found a day and night difference. Before my build would get so hot that it could make all the hot glue soft and thus parts could come loose. And the battery didnt last long. I had a...

Re: BW screen an PB1000c problems

I recommend you follow what rodocop said above but I would like to add that just by looking at the pictures you should add a little bit more solder to the white TV pad on the raspberry pi. It should cover the entire pad and wire.

Re: Modification of screen to use 5V

I have just posted a Wiring Guide for the 3.5″ GearBest Screen with 5V Mod . Most 3.5' screens use the XL1509 chip for converting 12v to 5v so this guide should also work on these screens too. I modded my screen the way you did (even though it works on 5v) and I've noticed a huge difference in the ...

Re: Gameboy Zero on airplane.

It can be risky. If they decide to examine it they could ask you to turn the device on (no problem there). If the device is messy on the inside it wouldn't suprise me if they'd want to open it -- in a very extreme case. Its quite possible to see through the X-ray machines whether the gameboy is home...

Can you post a picture of your wiring? What battery are you using.

Re: Really new to all this

I used 24 AWG for power and 28 AWG for everything else. You can go 30 AWG also. Stranded wire not solid core.

Re: Gearbest 3.5 Screen Variant B?

I'm using this screen have not encountered any issues whatsoever. There is no modification required. Just make sure you have good solder joints on the pi. I soldered my ground wire next to the TV / yellow wire on the pi.

Re: Checking in progress on 1 disk

I'm on retropie 4.4 and here's how I managed to do it: Go to file manager and open folder /etc, from there you can find two files. One is ".fstab" and another is simply "fstab" without the dot. They both contain 3 lines of code. I edited (Press F4) both files so that the last two digits in each line...

Re: Parts for me first GBZ build

I don't think you need to buy USB type A sockets because you get one already with the powerboost 1000, it isn't soldered to the board so you can use that one instead. But, if you want to have spares just in case then go ahead. For the screen I'd recommend the Gearbest instead since it is guaranteed ...
