Re: Circuit Gem Sound

Took it apart, reseated the speaker and re-touched the blue pads and it seems to be working well now. 100% volume still causes crackling but anything less is good now - happy days!

Circuit Gem Sound

New day, new topic! My gem was working, then it wasn't. Turns out continuity between a couple of pads was temperamental but it I pressed it down it worked again. After some re-soldering all was good and my gem rocks!.. except for the sound. I wasn't expecting great sound from the little speaker but ...

Re: LCD power and high pitched noise

New LCD arrived this morning, everything works well now and all tests pass. It seems to loop through and never quite stop, much like the Circuit Gem (which is was working well btw*), so I assume it works. The shutdown procedure works fine either way. Will build this weekend, thanks for all the suppo...

Re: Circuit Gem battery

I've bought one of each. The larger one I got from Aliexpress, which won't arrive for some time, but the smaller one I got from a Spanish eBay seller and it arrived in the UK within 3 days :d I was going to set about thinning my RPi in preparation but I'm confused about the two capacitors circled in...

Re: LCD power and high pitched noise

With no screen I read 35.8V on one side and the other side jumps all over the shop, from 0V up to like 9V, but it's very quick. With a screen attached I still read 35.8V on the one side and the other flashes between 15V and 0V. The battery itself reads 3.94V. EDIT: So I tried again and for every var...

Re: LCD power and high pitched noise

I downloaded your latest software image (1.3.2) and copied it to two SD cards. No joy on either, assuming the images are good. Turning on the board lights up all the LEDs but not the LCD backlight. Switching the board off takes a couple of seconds and then all the LEDs (except the battery charging o...

Re: LCD power and high pitched noise

Hi Kite, The replacement board arrived today. The PGOOD light turns on with this one, so that is sorted! The LCD remains pitch black however, with no sign of the backlight turning on. Any ideas? I can only guess that the memory flash didn't work? I might try compile it myself rather than using your ...

No luck with the new SD card, still no backlight or PGOOD LED, I'll send you an email.

Re: LCD power and high pitched noise

The 640 LCD also does not light the PGOOD LED, so there's that. Still waiting on the new SD card, it'll be Monday I guess.

PS. Someone on Github posted an issue a couple of days ago, same thing but his LCD backlight comes on.
