Re: DieselDummy's MintyPi v3 - #1
The clear PETG idea is genius. I've been wanting to order some for a while and this is making it hard not to pull the trigger. What did you use to heat it?

Re: Neopixel lamp idea
Thanks Wermy! That infra red sensor looks more applicable, will most likely go that route. I just need to order some clear filament. I can't decide if I want to do the base in black or try wood filament and maybe stain it. Has anyone here had positive results staining wood filament? Hellweaver666, t...

Re: MintyPi pcb, yep another "where to buy" question!
Nope, better off waiting on v3 board. I'm currently working on a complete diy inspired by the v2 mintyPi. Though I plan on buying a kit or two when v3 gets released. The diy approach is ripe with opportunity to learn if you don't want to wait.

Neopixel lamp idea
I really like the neopixel lamp idea Wermy presented a while back. I've been giving it some thought and would like to make one for my son (depending on how it comes out for my nieces as well). I'd like it to have two modes. First, similar to Wermy's example, it would change color based on time. Alth...

Re: Newbie Attempting to build MintyPi
Veneer might be too brittle, I'd be worried about cracking it when plugging in. I think a hole just big enough to accommodate a small plug ought to look ok.

Re: Screen orientation
Sweet, that's perfect! I tested my pi zero with a stick image of retro pi, I'll need to download and take a look at the config now. Thanks Helder!

Screen orientation
I've got a bare bones 2.4" SPI screen and am looking to order the breakout board by veterangamer. I'd like to use the one he has for the game boy zero, with the 90 degree turn. Does anyone know how to tell what direction the screen will be oriented? It looks like I need the ribbon to come off the ri...

Re: Newbie Attempting to build MintyPi
Even using 1/4 inch, your going to need to either thin the areas where plugs and buttons go or use bigger holes and longer buttons. Would still be worth it. I've got some scrap maple I might try the same thing if I ever get time. I'm envisioning what looks like a jewelry box for my wife, then she op...

I see no reason why a wooden case would not work. No different really than a fully printed enclosure. Sounds neat to me, what type of wood were you considering? Are you going to route out a piece of wood or glue a box together?

Re: ili9341 SPI TFT Screen Connectors (for bare screens without boards)
Biggest advantage I see is less soldering
Has anyone created their own ribbon cables from old 40 pin IDE or is it the wrong pitch to use with connectors? Could it still be soldered directly to the board?
