Re: How do i solder the radberry pi to the button PCB without conecting pins that should not be commected.
I'll add one quick note, the holes on the practice board where a bit bigger than the holes on the pi zero. I was able to feed solder in a slight gap on the practice board but had no such gap on the real deal. It was still good practice and worth buying. It was very satisfying to to hear the continui...

I just ordered a practice board to avoid this, as I don't have a heat gun if I make a mistake.

Re: Can I make a mintypi even though I can’t find PCB
There are lots of posts here about people that made a DIY mintypi. Takes a little more effort and creativity but yes, it can be done. I bought 2 V3 kits and have most of the parts I need to make a couple V2. I'm actually using the V2 as an excuse to teach myself 3D modeling, improve my programing, a...

Printing multi color w/one nozzle
Anyone have any tips on how to align the tiny inserts for the faceplate? I'm trying my hand at setting up to print the first layer in different colors using the z-hop technique. Aside from carefully positioning and turning into place by eye, is there another more convenient/accurate way? Or do you t...

The clear PETG idea is genius. I've been wanting to order some for a while and this is making it hard not to pull the trigger. What did you use to heat it?

Re: Neopixel lamp idea
Thanks Wermy! That infra red sensor looks more applicable, will most likely go that route. I just need to order some clear filament. I can't decide if I want to do the base in black or try wood filament and maybe stain it. Has anyone here had positive results staining wood filament? Hellweaver666, t...

Re: MintyPi pcb, yep another "where to buy" question!
Nope, better off waiting on v3 board. I'm currently working on a complete diy inspired by the v2 mintyPi. Though I plan on buying a kit or two when v3 gets released. The diy approach is ripe with opportunity to learn if you don't want to wait.

Neopixel lamp idea
I really like the neopixel lamp idea Wermy presented a while back. I've been giving it some thought and would like to make one for my son (depending on how it comes out for my nieces as well). I'd like it to have two modes. First, similar to Wermy's example, it would change color based on time. Alth...

Re: Newbie Attempting to build MintyPi
Veneer might be too brittle, I'd be worried about cracking it when plugging in. I think a hole just big enough to accommodate a small plug ought to look ok.
