Small update, I remembered that my roommate has a Creative SoundBlaster USB audio adatper that I just tested works with a Pi 3 running Raspbian. That way I will get clean stereo rather than the questionable mono I was going to get the DIY way. I now just need to figure out how to wire the mono speak...

I have it wired and the low pass filter working. I can hear sound from my earbuds and speaker, but it is very low. Turning the pot on the PAM8302A doesn't seem to be doing anything and just turns forever in either direction. I'm almost positive I have everything wired correctly, but maybe I don't? E...
