You can and it will likely give some error message but you can ignore it. It's the battery monitoring script that you're using is kicking in the safe shutdown. What are you using to monitor the battery voltage?

Well that isn't a power and battery issue now is it? try a fresh install of the Image on the SD card also be sure you are connected to your wifi by going to the Show IP option in the retropie menu.

You put the meter to continuity mode or diode mode the one that beeps when you touch the 2 probes together. Then touch the 5v GPIO on the raspberry pi with one probe and then touch D1 pad with the other probe. The pi has to be soldered on the board to properly test things, if in doubt follow Wermy's...

Talking about the mintyPi v3? If do no one has spares to sell but I will have kits available once I ship the kits out so you won't have to wait for another pre-order. Yo I can get one a week or 2 after pre-orders start to ship.
