Re: Rodocop's 17th GBZ

Hey, Rodo... You've made one or two Gameboy Zeroes... :) My original DMG Gameboy Zero from '16 has glitched itself into its grave, and I think I'm going to do a refurb on it. What is everyone doing for safe shutdown switches these days (when not using Kite's AIO)? Or have most people just given up a...

Re: Freeplay Theme - EmulationStation/RetroPie theme optimized for small screens

Does this theme not work with 4.3? After I install and activate the theme, it's not looking like your screenshots. It's just text for each system and black and white overall colors. Hmm.. it's possible that it may not work on 4.3. I make use of a lot of variables in the theme XML, and those don't a...

Re: Freeplay Theme - EmulationStation/RetroPie theme optimized for small screens

The theme is now available though ES-themes. Inside RetroPie-Setup, first run "Update RetroPie-Setup script". Then it'll show up in the list of available themes. The ES-themes version of the theme is called "freeplay", and is configured by default to use the purple/indigo color scheme. The color of ...

Looks awesome! Might give it a try on the PiddlyPi. See how it looks on a 1.44" screen!

Re: GBZ35 & GBZ35-Dark RetroPie Themes for Small Screens

Just a quick note. I fixed a problem with file permissions on the rxbrad_themeutils utility for the Freeplay theme. I also fixed a problem where the yellow theme didn't install correctly when using the utility. If you already have it installed, you can update the utility with cd ~/rxbrad_themeutils;...

Re: GBZ35 & GBZ35-Dark RetroPie Themes for Small Screens

The Freeplay theme is done, and should show up soon in ESThemes.  By default, if you install the theme from ESThemes, it'll use the Indigo/Purple color scheme.  You can change this by editing /etc/emulationstation/themes/freeplay/color.xml sudo nano /etc/emulationstation/themes/freeplay/color.xml Bu...

Re: Stripped my second screw, getting frustrated! Advice please!

Buy yourself some stainless steel 5mm M2 screws. The ones that are included with the aftermarket shells are really poor quality.

Re: Prize Parts - New GBZ - Need help too...

Not sure where you stand on tools, but you honestly have almost everything you need for a working Gameboy Zero. Looks like you need a common ground PCB button board. Depending on which one you pick (whether or not it had onboard audio), you may need parts for a PWM audio circuit or a USB soundcard. ...
