Re: Tiny castellated modules

IT WORKS. I reflowed it and did a better job cleaning off the flux. I also attached a device to the fourth port instead of the first. I'm going to test the rest of the ports tomorrow. Edit: I made a STUPID mistake. I labelled 1+ and 1- improperly, hence why they didn't work when I tested them. Incre...

Re: Tiny castellated modules

Finished building the first USB module. It works (sort of)! It's recognized by the computer as a USB hub, but I get a device descriptor error when I plug something into it, so I've got to figure that out.

Re: Tiny castellated modules

I haven't tested any of the modules yet (I'll be doing a lot of assembly tomorrow and will report back). I had to reorder my 32U4 boards because I made a stupid mistake (eagle library I used didn't have a pad for the QFN package). Also, if you are going to assemble these yourself, you'll probably ne...

Re: Tiny castellated modules

I've done that because eagle will not properly pour the ground plane when the board dimensions castellate the vias. When properly poured, there are no airwires. However, I'm worried that the ground path for components on the left of the board is convoluted. I modified the gerber files such that they...

Re: Tiny castellated modules

Probably the final module (I think I've got everything needed for any Pi build). This is the PowerCastel (adaptation of PowerBoost 1000C). https://github.com/Dopp-IO/PowerCastel I'd appreciate if somebody could do a quick review of the board. I've made it very small, so I may have messed something up.

[Solved] Audio is incredibly distorted on USB sound card

I have a strange problem. I'm using the same sound card found in the MintyPi. No matter what I try, it distorts terribly. I've tried replacing it (twice) and altering config.txt. I've also messed with alsa and various sound settings. It's connected through an amplifier and a potentiometer, but the d...

Re: Tiny castellated modules

Aaaand another. This one's a USB sound card and stereo amp. It measures 0.66" x 0.59".

I'm changing the links to the CAD files to github links.

Re: Tiny castellated modules

Another module is complete, and this one is an FE1.1s module (4 port USB hub). It measures 0.54" x 0.51".

Re: Tiny castellated modules

I want to do more boards in the future with the same chips. I don't want to re-implement my designs every time I do a new board. It's very easy to just slap these on any future boards I do. Plus, I effectively get 4 layers to work with.

Tiny castellated modules

I've been doing some design lately for my DS Lite AIO. I realized that if I wanted to change the form factor of my board, I'd need to rewire everything manually on the new PCB despite it having common components. That's why I'm designing everything on small modules that can be rearranged and put ont...
