Re: Screen performance?

You could try forcing the frame buffer to the resolution of the screen. What I have found is that quite a few of the 3.5" composite screens are not actually 320 x 240 - they are a little under - for example the ones I have are actually 320 x 234. To set the frame buffer open up /boot/config.txt and...

Re: [Completed]Sushi's GB3-Slim

This print looks so good. Did you do it in house? The only thing is the raspberry not being screwed down. I did do the print on my own printer. Thanks :) The RPi is actually screwed down, though. Will a fan fit? Maybe if I managed the wiring better. I'd like to rewire the whole thing because a lot ...

Re: GameBoyMaster's GBZ Build (WIP)

The images don't show up for me. Try uploading them as files, then placing them inline.

I look forwards to seeing your progress!

Re: Sushi's GB3-Slim

All done :D

I've gotta take it apart again so that I can mess with the control setup, but here it is - fully working. I've also gotta put the screen cover on, but whatever.

Re: Sushi's GB3-Slim

Progress update:
-I have a fully working system
-I'm still working on getting a nice print

The design for now seems to be complete, but that can only be determined once the whole thing is together.

Re: Screen Tearing?

I wanted to use a Kedei screen, but the screen tearing was too much to bear. The final straw was its immense heat output. DPI is truly the best option IMO.

It's not easy to see, but it's there in the first picture. Here's a screenshot of the design:

Re: Sushi's GB3-Slim

Once I've printed and assembled it just because I want to make sure the design works. If you go through my post history, you'll see I released an older version of the model without the slimming. That one is the exact same dimensions as a regular dmg.

Re: Sushi's GB3-Slim

I wanted to preserve the Gameboy styling. It's pretty iconic. I also wanted to use an existing screen cover.

Features: -Much thinner (~1cm) -Much lighter -Fits Pi3 -Fully printable -80% screw joints -2 external USBs I designed this because the original DMG shell was just too big. I also wanted everything to go together as cleanly as possible. I've test fitted everything up to this point and am soon going ...
