Re: Circuit Gem VMU

Added the L/R buttons! I like them in the lid, easy to reach and feels nice. There wasnt any room in the case anyway with the 800mah battery. It was a veeery tight fit, I scaped a bit of the gem so it fits inbetween the switches. vmulr.jpg vmulr2.jpg vmulr3.jpg As a bonus I now have a security line ...

Re: Gem L/R Button issue

If you have the exact same problem my guess is a software issue :)
I already resoldered the PI pins a few times, reflowed everything with a heat gun, removed the connector and used the pins out of desperation ^^

[Solved] Gem L/R Button issue

Hey Kite, I just added some L/R buttons: - measured the buttons to the pads on the gem - measured L to Pi pin 27 (ID_SD??) - measured R to Pi pin 15 (GPIO 22) - L pad goes to ground when L button is pressed - R pad goes to ground when R button is pressed - pin 27 goes to ground when L button is pres...

Re: Smoscar's GEM Build

Nice work! Did you reuse a case you used for satris board? I noticed the cutouts on the sides

Re: Rodocop's Circuit Gem

That looks great!
We need more love for the VMU :)

For the transparent case: I prepared a black transparent one but opted for the default gray in the end. But a heat gun works wonders on those pressure marks, just be sure to not overheat and deform the case.

Re: Circuit Gem VMU

That could work, my battery is a bit wider than the 2 screw holes are apart, I am not using the recommended one, just one I had around. But I am good for this build, everything is OK as it is. I have a few more batteries ordered for the next builds (the ones from the wiki) and will see if I can use ...

Re: Circuit Gem VMU

I "only" removed all the connectors. I did not require removing any components from the PI. I thought this was worth mentioning as replacing the components (I guess the bigger ones are 2 capacitors) is quiet a lot harder for me than removing the connectors. So, I did remove the HDMI, 2 USB and Camer...

Re: Circuit Gem VMU

Yeah, a few components are just a bit too thick, so ideally you could replace them. but 4,5mm seems to work fine without - the indents arent too bad and were mostly from the test fittings and it looks even more abused as I used this battery in my own build where I could not get it to fit at all. I d...

Re: Circuit Gem VMU

I noticed that, but it does fit nicely when you dont glue it down and let it align itself. the board sits perfectly flush with the speaker in between before screwing it down, when I glued it in place I had to press it down. EDIT: and I remember that I did run the edges and solder points of the speak...
