Re: Circuit Gem VMU

Sleep button was just a tiny bit too deep into the casing, making it really hard to press. It was almost flush with the casing. It doesnt protrude much when fixed compared to the mode button, but this is due to the fact that the case is curved. So I went in again, took some pictures and removed more...

Re: Circuit Gem VMU

Oh, so that is what that is about :) I also saw the keyboard, which looks great! So, adding the two extra buttons will give us full snes controls, thanks! I have a few business trips coming up, along with long flights and train rides - the VMU will make this so much more fun :) EDIT: Just started pl...

Re: Circuit Gem VMU

I didnt have time the last few months (and quite a few to come) to really get into this anymore, so this build has been so much fun again! Thank you for that :) As for improvements: I would say you got all you can get into the little VMU. I just played a few games, the speaker is great, screen beaut...

Re: Circuit Gem VMU

Electronics are done, did take quiet a while longer as I had to resolder a few bad points. But Pi is stripped and joined to the Gem, all working well :)

Short break and on to the case!

Circuit Gem VMU

Thanks Kite for these beautiful boards! I still have my 2 working VMUs, one with satri360s board and one with just a button PCB which was supposed to become modular. Both I never play due to the lowres screen and weak sound on the first and because my own is so fragile. So, I was waiting all week to...

Re: Hello

Hey moosepr, I love it, great job! I never got the original but I love all tiny PI stuff :) I never really fully finished it but I still play my own VMU build with this 240 screen, its so great. Also ordered some of kites VMU boards and have a build with satris one. I need to get my hands on an orig...

Re: Modular VMU [In Progress]

I wanted to fit the ACCU-LP453350 (800) in but it is a little bit too thick.
The ACCU-LP44345 (750) is a better fit. You will need a lot of case work on the back side and a fully stripped pi to make it fit though
The ACCU-LP403035 (400) is a pretty safe bet

Re: Modular VMU

It's different from Smoki's, but I got my screen from Adafruit . It fits very well if you aren't afraid of removing bits from the case. Hopefully I'll be finishing my build soon, I'll post pics and a write up after I do. That looks like it is the same display I got, just Ardafruit branded and with ...
