Re: Safe shutdown when total power turned off.

What you need is something like Pi UPS. Just google about it to get some ideas.

Re: waterproof mintpi

Nearly impossible because: -PLA printing material will dissolve over long term in water -Speaker outlet will catch water -Charger connector will allow water entry -Display will catch water due to capillary action -All buttons need mechanical gaps to allow free movement which allow again water to ent...

Re: Help wiring up 940nm IR leds

According to diode IR204-A data sheet typical current should be 20mA at 1.2 Volt forward voltage. Meaning your resistor should drop the remaining 3.8 Volts from the 5 Volt power source. 3.8V at 0.02A resulting a resistor value of 190 Ohm. Or something available close to this value. Re: Any ideas? mac doesn't see retropie...

On Mac: install and use the ssh file transfer App Cyberduck!

During connection setup just do not forget to change to SSH (sftp) with of course the right ip adress and login/ password. And by the way: make sure ssh is already enabled on your reteopie image.

Re: DPI and HDMI ?

Both in parallel works with a service like dpi cloner. Only disadvantage is you will have the same (low) resolution on your tv like on your inside screen.
To improve this Kite build the function "reboot to HDMI" into his Circuit Sword image.

Re: SD cartridge reader

Thinner should be fine since there is no power consumption from sd card. I guess any fault is caused by interferience. Maybe shild in any means could help and of course wires as short as possible. And a stable power supply. This is the reason for the capapcitor betwenn power and ground very close to...

Re: Another screen problem :(

The raspberry itself gives 3.3 out of one of its GPIO pins. Just google the pinout. Maybe the power consumption of the screen is too high for this output. Do you have power values measured from your screen to compare with the pi 3.3 output specs maybe before trying? See this link about raspberry pi ...

Re: Another screen problem :(

Maybe stop to focus on 5.0V, maybe your screen runs on 3.3 Volts as you already measured on the cap. If it runs on 3.3V and the power consumption is not too hight you can resolve this voltage from the raspberry GPIO pins somewhere. Just google the GPIO pinout and try. Keep the drawn amperage in mind...

Re: SD cartridge reader

This does not help you, just my experience: I did this MOD as well and the bootup worked sometimes. This prooves the right wiring and function in general. I discharged this MOD finally because I did not saw anymore possible improvements in my wiring. In addition I wanted to overclock the SD card lat...
