Re: [Ordering Parts] Murpho's Gameboy Zero (Murphboy zero)

I lucked out. Bought two screens from them, and both were the small V7 screen.

Re: [Ordering Parts] Murpho's Gameboy Zero (Murphboy zero)

Would you mind posting which Amazon seller you bought that screen from, just so people know to watch out for the big boards? http://sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=15 If it's EpathDeals (which was where your link took me), I got a small V7 board from them earlier this week, and have a 2nd boar...

Re: [Guide] Graceful shutdown switch without Pololu

Button included sounds like a really good idea. Was there a reason the Popcorn version used a latching switch? Regular tactile seems to make more sense when compared to most reset buttons like this.

Re: New members, introduce yourself!

Brad from Michigan here... After spending about 10 years working as a pharmacist in an ER, I eventually moved on to the IT/pharmacy space for my hospital. Always been kind of a nerd -- did some BASIC programming on my TI-99/4A in elementary school, learned PHP to build/maintain a website for a regio...

Re: A list of recommended items needed

First, check the Wiki . Almost all of your answers are there. Instead of buying a dead Gameboy, you could consider getting a Gameboy DMG case, plus a headphone jack & power switch . A Gameboy DS or DSLite cartridge slot can be used in place of the slot from a dead Gameboy. You'll also need a potenti...

Re: [Guide] Graceful shutdown switch without Pololu

@treguard The PCB is just plain stripboard. I think he glued the switch to it with epoxy. Also, just another reminder to everyone to check the pins on the JFET before they get too far into things. I got a Fairchild-branded 2N5460 JFET, and the pins are ordered differently when compared to the JFET u...

Re: Collecting information on alternative displays - please contribute

@KaiKona808 I just put in a second order from the same seller for another GBZ I'm working on for a friend. Since there's differing info on EPATHDEALS boards, I'll update this post with the type of board when it shows up Friday (hoping it's still V7, as this seems to be one of the easier ones to work...

Re: Alternative power supply help

@Camble Nice! Does it have anything built-in to replace the function of the missing enable pin on this power supply? The Powerboost is nice, but it usually costs about $30 when you figure in markups and shipping.

Re: [Guide] Graceful shutdown switch without Pololu

@Camble OK, I get it. I think I got confused by there not being an empty hole at that cut point. I messed around with an Xacto knife on some blank board and tried to cut between holes, but didn't get good results. I think I'll just rearrange to avoid cutting between holes whenever this comes up. I f...

Re: [Guide] Graceful shutdown switch without Pololu

I'm pretty new to this stuff, and I'm confused by the "cut here" part in the photos. What are you cutting, and how? Thanks!
