Re: No video- BW screen variant 9

Video - you just need to connect one video wire to the tv pin on the pi. Disconnect the white. Power - looks like your screen is being powered by the 3.3v on the pi but you connected it to the 5v pin on the screen chip. - Try to connect a 5v power supply to it instead. - desolder the red wire on the...

Re: Safe shutdown?

I just started looking into the circuitry and it looks like there's no safe shutdown for the MintyPi. Any chance there's room for us to add something that could let us do that? check the ATXRaspi https://lowpowerlab.com/guide/atxraspi/ I have not tested it myself but should do it. Not sure if it fi...

Re: [GUIDE] Battery icon indicator guide with MCP3008

The Pngview icon will not appear on the Emulationstation homescreen but appears just fine on any games. Any ideas why? Perhaps you are not using a layer number that is high enough within the pngview switch to be the upmost layer. Yeah. I tried to check the layers via: vcgencmd dispmanx_list It look...

The green LED at the top looks great.
I agree! Very nice. I will probably do this myself too for my next build.

Congrats! Nice and clean build. Look at that battery monitor image! So cool! 👍👍👍

Do you have a link to the screen you used for this build?

Agreed on the power consumption. I use a USB wattage meter and the BW screens have been pulling around 425-450 mA at 5V and the adafruit ones pull around 150mA. No idea how the disparity can be so great.
Thanks for confirming! Do you have link for the Adafruit screen?

I tested mine using 12v, 5v, and 3.3v power supply and they get hot still. The BW screens i have also consumes more power than the one i bought fr...
