Re: GameBoy Zero with RP3 (unmodded) and custom designed PCB with USB-C charging

Finally the PCBs came in and I soldered all the components to one of them. They Board works really well and also the "yellow Lightningbold" isn´t there anymore. They fit in alle very well. Only the part where the usb-c charger sits is half an millimeter to long so I sanded it down and now it fits pe...

Re: GameBoy Zero with RP3 (unmodded) and custom designed PCB with USB-C charging

Hi, I just want to update you about my build. Today I finally modified the case to fit the X/Y Buttons and removed the Original Audiojack socket. I also added the screenprotector glass and it looks quit good with it. In the next few days the PCBs will arrive so I update you there when they are solde...

Re: My GBZ build (99% complete)

I really like the colorscheme your going for, and the X,Y and zero label you added with the black pen is quit funny and charming. The only thing I would add is a screen protector/cover something like this: http://market.sudomod.com/1mm-gorilla-glass-with-silkscreen-border/ (cheap link: https://de.al...

Re: My GBZ build (99% complete)

What do you plan on doing with shutting the case? I'm experiencing the same issue. Hey, Maybe you can use a piece of plastic or a piece of metal and glue it in the top shell right above where the DC Jack was on the original GB. And than use a small screw through the plastic/metal piece. So you can ...

Re: GameBoy Zero with RP3 (unmodded) and custom designed PCB with USB-C charging

How much amperage is your boost circuit outputting? Reason I ask is you want atleast a 2A output to power a pi3 and anything else in there, a Pi 3B + will not work properly or turn off at 2A so if you want to future proof it you will need more amperage. But a Pi 3 can run just about anything the pi...

Re: GameBoy Zero with RP3 (unmodded) and custom designed PCB with USB-C charging

Yes it is also based on GreatScotts board. Oh ok sad to hear this, did you resolder the parts? What Voltage did you got after the Battery charging/protection partion of the circuit? If DW01-G was soldered in reverse that could cause some issiuse with the voltage, I don´t think the FS8205 is in reve...

Re: GameBoy Zero with RP3 (unmodded) and custom designed PCB with USB-C charging

Love how you integrated your own power board. I took a stab at that a while back, using the GreatScott board as a template (which it looks like you might've also), but I did something wrong, because there was a huge voltage drop on the front end somewhere near the TP4056. I think my boost part woul...

Re: GameBoy Zero with RP3 (unmodded) and custom designed PCB with USB-C charging

Awesome stuff. I really enjoying seeing people creating custom parts for their build. Creating PCBs is definitely out of my league but I’ve been 3D printing custom components and it’s been working out great so far. I only have this image on my phone right now. May I ask why you want the RPi3 to be ...

GameBoy Zero with RP3 (unmodded) and custom designed PCB with USB-C charging

Hi, I´m on my way to build my first Gameboy Zero Mod. I decided to use a Raspberry pi 3 B for this. My goal is that i want to leave the Raspberry pi as complete as possible means I don´t desolder any ports. Also I want to have accsess to the HDMI port so I can use it as a Retrostation. I also want t...
