Thanks for the replies so far. Just added two pictures of the powerboost and powerstrip connections.
Looking at those, the powerboost negative and positive wires solder work doesn't look that great.

Yesterday, I tried to power up my GBZ with the powerboost 1000c, screen and pi zero connected to a power strip. For some reason it wouldn't boot up.
