Tutorial for making custom "3D" Game Boy Buttons with embedded images
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1914/43444262640_8420b52542_b.jpg So I've finished my video tutorial on how to make "3D" Game Boy buttons with embedded images. I hope some will find it useful! If anyone ends up using this guide and makes some of their own, I would love to see them. I ended up making...

Re: Best Paint for coloring my Case?
I've painted a fair amount of plastic bits and one tip I would give you is to make sure to use an adhesion promoter/plastic primer. Especially on an item you might be handling a fair amount. I recently re-dyed the dashboard in a car I'm restoring (it was originally from Texas and had severe UV damag...

Re: Custom "3D" Pokeball (and other) buttons for GBZ, GB, NES, etc
So I just finished up another batch of buttons, this time I did some ABXY sets and some NES characters and a few other cool things like dragon eyes in the colors of Super Famicom controller buttons. In making these I was able to shoot everything I needed for the video tutorial, so I'll hopefully hav...

Can't wait to see the guide. These buttons look great!! If you need more ideas for MTG, don't forget about the guilds. (Dimir fan myself) Yes, I was thinking those could make cool buttons too, or maybe a Guild themed Game Boy with one button of each color. The Ravnica sets are my favorite expansion...

Custom "3D" Pokeball (and other) buttons for GBZ, GB, NES, etc
So after building my first GBZ at the beginning of this year I started to get more into building customized regular Game Boys, and had an idea of making these "3D" buttons with images in them. I started casting my own buttons soon after I finished my first GBZ, and came up with a multi-part casting ...

Re: Prize Parts - New GBZ - Need help too...
I think with the Tinkerboy 2.0 he should have the button pcb and the audio stuff out of the way. I just used a TB 2.0 on a GBZ I built as a gift for my brother, it was really easy to work with. TB has a retropie image on his site you can download too with all the buttons already set up for GPIO. I t...

Re: My first GBZ (Separable halves, custom Metroid cartridge, no hot glue)[Completed]
So if you ever needed to remove your battery you have to open up the case to unplug it? or you do you have an extension going into the battery compartment? My battery is plugged into the charge circuit so yes, I would have to crack it open to disconnect the battery. I think at some point I will add...

Re: My first GBZ (Separable halves, custom Metroid cartridge, no hot glue)[Completed]
i love the wiring in your case and how cleanly the two halves separate. im wondering how you got the wires to bend so neatly. you can also try retrobrite-ing your cart. Thanks 8-) For the parts of the wiring that have a 90°/180° bend I actually peeled the ribbon wire apart from one end, taped them ...

Re: Oregon Trail build
Someone should totally build one of these, and then use it to play Oregon Trail. You would be total bad ass!
