Using 4 rechargable Li-po AA batteries

Hi there, if nothing goes wrong (when did that ever happen?) I should have the whole original battery department left for fun activities :) So why not use it for what it was really intentended to do and put 4 batteries in. There are lots of ~1200maH AA Li-Po (3.6V or 1.5V) batteries on Amazon, so th...

Re: smoki's GBZ

Not much today, changed the layout so the Pi is on the button board side for easier wiring. Added the power switch, micro usb charging board, two shoulder buttons and normal usb port. Everything attached again with VHB tape and the PI with duallock except the shoulder buttons, they sadly need a drop...

Re: smoki's GBZ

Yay, progress =D After waiting another hour at UPS and paying a stupid amount of tax on the package I finally got the most important parts. I tested out some layout options and figured when I remove the cartridge portion inside the case I would have more than enough room for everything without remov...

Re: smoki's GBZ

@DeltaShadow - Thanks, I saw that already, but decided to keep it as it is, maybe even rough it up even more for a more authentic look :) This first one is my trial one anyway. The next one will be one using the all-in-one board, a cleaned case, 640x480 display and a pi3. I already orderwd everythin...

smoki's GBZ

Hello :) because everyone is doing it I'm going to post my progress too. Stuff I want to take my time and make everything easily replaceable, so no hot glue. It will be a setup with a kitsch 4 button board, pi zero, usb sound and powerboost for power/battery/charging. Part 1 - Display I filed the bo...

Re: Cleaner Screen Mount / Hello :)

Seems to hold perfectly well. I removed it once and I needed quite a lot of force in one corner, after that the rest came off easy. It bonds really well with the plastic (smoothed it with sandpaper) and the metal from the display. After removal I made thinner strips because it was quite hard to get ...

Cleaner Screen Mount / Hello :)

Hello, like many I just started my GBZ :) I decided to not go by the guide and figure stuff out on the way. So the first thing to arrive was the screen (a cheap (15€) one from amazon, mentioned in the wiki). I don't have a dremel right now, but some key files and that worked great (the corner look e...
